Summary

There's just two kinds of people: cool and uncool," a straphanger tells Kareem, arguing that contrary to popular belief, the uncool ones are actually evil. Kareem pushes back. What about mid people? The rider insists they don't really exist, you're either cool-slash-good or uncool-slash-bad, citing artist Warhol as an example of someone who's undeniably both cool and good. But Kareem's companion isn't convinced, claiming most people fall somewhere in between. He'd even put himself in that category. "Regular looks, regular penis, regular personality," he says. The conversation winds through definitions of coolness, goodness, and whether being regular means being mid, with the rider making a surprisingly earnest case that free-spirited people with glamour aren't nefarious, they're the good ones.

So, what's your take? My take is that there's just two kinds of people: cool and uncool. And contrary to popular opinion, the uncool people are the evil ones.

100% disagree.

Why? There's mid people.

I feel like mid people don't really exist. There's like, kind of like, undecided. I think the majority of people in the world are mid.

I feel like I have a more intense reaction to people. I feel like I either feel really, really good about them or I feel like, really, really like, not so good about them.

Are you cool or uncool? Well, I say that I'm a good—I'm a cool person. I'm a good person. What is this, cool equals good?

Well, it's not so much that cool equals good. It's more that uncool, or that un-good, evil is uncool, essentially. That's true.

That's really more what the take is, at the at the core.

I 100% agree with that. I've never really met someone that is evil that's cool. Essentially, like, to be good is to be cool.

A lot of uncool people are evil.

That's the whole point though.

Oh, I thought you said the cool people are— No, I think that a lot of times people make you think that the cool people are the ones that are kind of like nefarious or kind of have bad intentions. So I think it's like, it's actually the opposite in reality. You know, a lot of times I think that evilness is associated with people that have certain kind of glamour or flare or glitz, but I think those people are just free-spirited and they're actually super embodied and they're super positive ultimately.

Who's an example of a cool person? My favorite artist, for example, that I would say is as cool as, like, Wallal. He's one of my favorite artists.

Yeah, I say he's cool. He's a cool guy.

I would also say that he's like a good guy. He, like, you know, he promoted a lot of other artists. He put a lot of like art mediums forward. I think he's someone that's like really, really interesting. I think he's a cool guy. Yeah.

But I think that most people are mid.

I mean— I'm mid.

Do you think so?

Yeah. I think you seem like a pretty nice guy.

I'm nice, but I'm mid.

What makes you feel like you're mid? Like, what qualifies someone to be mid? My personality is mid.

So you're not like, you know, there's nothing spectacular, nothing interesting there. Yeah, just a regular guy. Regular looks, regular penis, regular personality.

Regular doesn't mean mid and regular doesn't mean uncool either, you know, like—

You're cool.

But being regular is something—

You are cool. I can tell you're a cool person. Well, I would say I'm more of a good person, which in my mind is the same thing.

Well, I've learned a lesson in coolness today.
