So, what's your take? Life is short is a completely unhelpful piece of advice. 100% disagree. There are all these videos that say life is short. Uh uh you know, you don't have as much time as you think. This is not actionable. It doesn't tell me anything I didn't already know. Also, first of all, life is short relative to what? To the history of the universe to to the last thousand years. Life could also be considered long compared to seconds. But but here's what I'm saying. Life is short. So, what do you want me to do? Jam more stuff in. To me, it breaks down into a few categories, right? Life is short, so pursue your career more aggressively or go after your goals. Or life is short, spend more time with your loved ones. Or life is short, so so enjoy yourself. So, it's like, you're not telling me anything about what to do with this limited resources.
Why do they need to tell you? I think they're saying you choose the second half of that statement. Life is short. So, so do you want to decide where exactly? And I'm going I'm already dealing with this question all the time. So you've not helped me at all by by telling me that life is short.
What kind of advice is helpful? Here's what would be a helpful version. Hey, I've lived a long life. Life is shorter than you think. So I think you should do this. They say don't spend too much time working. You see, this is the thing. They either say don't spend too much time working or they say so go after that goal, that dream you've always had. I'm like these things are in direct conflict.
What about life is long. What would be the lesson from life is long? You don't got to rush.
