The Super Bowl is a Strange Name! (dianna Agron)
Summary
Dianna Agron thinks the Super Bowl has a weird name. It's been called that since the '60s, when the Kansas City Chiefs owner borrowed it from his kids' Super Ball toy. Strange choice. Kareem agrees at first, but they quickly hit a wall: any rebrand would probably end up as "the City Bank Bowl" or some other corporate nightmare. Agron isn't actually calling for change, just pointing out that it's odd nobody ever challenged it. The owner himself apparently admitted there was probably something better. They both land on keeping it despite the weirdness, though Agron compares it unfavorably to Led Zeppelin (genius name) and favorably to Six Flags (also weird, could use a refresh). The Mall of America? Untouchable.

So what's your take? I think it's a little strange that the name Super Bowl.
Stop, 100% agree. It's been the Super Bowl for too long since the '60s. Do you know why? No, of course I don't know why. Why would I know why? The Kansas City Chiefs owner saw his kids playing with a ball called the Super Ball and then went to press and was like, "We're going to call it the Super Bowl."
And you feel strongly that it's time for a change? I think it's been around too long. But a lot of Led Zeppelin has been around too long. You want to change the name of Led Zeppelin? No, that's a genius name. Super Bowl kind of weird.
What about like Six Flags? Six Flags is weird, so you could change Six Flags to a new name. 100%. It needs to be more iconic.
You know what's iconic? The Mall of America. That's true. And I've been there. Have you been there? Of course I've been there. From Minnesota? Yeah. I would never change the name of the Mall of America. Definitely not.
But here's the problem with Super Bowl if of changing it. They're going to call it like the City Bank Bowl. It's going to become sponsored awful. I'm not saying actually we change it. I just might was that it's weird that the name stops there. There was no challengers. He even said he was like, "There's probably something better." They're like, "Okay, let's keep it. Let's do it."
I'm with them. Yeah, I don't want to change it anymore. Keep it. I don't want to brainstorm. But you still think it's weird? I think it's weird. 100% agree.
